WHITE ASH

White as, or Fraxinus Americana which is its scientific name, is a very hard and resistant wood from North America. It's famous to be easy to work with and easy to steam bending. White ash is the number one choice for baseball bats and tool handles, which also guarantee its suitability for high quality wooden wrist watches. It has excellent shock resistance, and when stained it can look very similar to oak. Common uses are also flooring and millwork.

CHARACTERISTICS

The heartwood has a light to medium brown appearance and the sapwood can be very wide and use to be beige or light brown color.

GRAIN & TEXTURE

White ash has a medium to coarse texture similar to oak. Grain tends to be regular and straight, but can sometimes be a bit curly here and there.
